Bandai Spirits 1/144 30MM Option Armors, Weapon 1 sets for Portanova.

The plastic runner of Special Squad armor, in dark bluish-gray color.

One Portanova plastic model figure needed for assembling this armor, in this case, I am using the Red Portanova. Click HERE to check out the original Portanova figure.

The armor on Portanova looks not bad, even the chest armor looks like a monster face. The things I don't like of this armor sets are, the mask looks weird, by I mean the roll-bar on the upper part of the mask, the lower part looks like Geara Zulu from Gundam Unicorn series. I would prefer they use the bill of the original mask as the top part and remain the lower part of the mask.

The plastic runner of the Close Fighting armor. It is deep dark red, almost like black color.

I use the Close Fighting armor on Gray Portanova.

The mask looks like a goat skull, and the chest armor got an eye in the middle of it, is this imply the armor is evil...?

This look like a scarab beetle to me, kind of cool, or maybe this the is 'kabuto'? I would like to call it Kabuto Shield.

Serial no. W-02 Option Weapon 1 for Portanova plastic runner #2. This contained most of the rifle parts.

This is all the parts of the rifle(except for the top machine gun), one Gatling gun barrels, one drum magazine, one long rifle barrel, and one long magazine.

The Gatling gun barrels and the drum magazine are needed in this assembling.

Alto and Portanova axe comparisons. The Alto one is more like a modern style pickaxe, but Portanova one looks like a heavy battle axe.

This is what I made with all the parts in this box I could use.

Bandai Spirits 1/144 30MM bEXM-15 PORTANOVA [GREEN].

The stories between this 30MM series

Several decades have passed since the "skyfall" when a space transition gate (gate) suddenly appeared on earth's orbit.
World conflict is still taking place everywhere, but the birth of a weapon changes the tactics of modern combat.
The emergence of the extended armed and modular combination system, commonly known as "Examax"
In the blink of an eye, I changed the military balance of the world.
The end of 2XXX.
Again, a space transfer gate (gate) appears on earth's orbit.
Emerging from the gate was the Byron, a planet similar in appearance to Earthling.
The Byron army starts attacking each country with "Porta Nova", which is similar to Examax.
The countries in dispute formed the Allied Forces of the Earth.
The battle of the Earth Allied Forces and the Byron Army is cut off and dropped.

What is this mecha called?

Examax (or Examacs)
(Extended Armament & Module Assemble & Combine System)

(Extended Armed and Module Assembly and Coupling System) Initial "EXAMACS"
Each part of the airframe is modularized, and each part of the airframe is replaced according to the environment,
It is an aircraft equipped with a system that can cope with various war situations.
The change and expansion of the ability by the replacement of parts is the true point of the exam.

Details of the bEXM-15 Portanova (Byron Army)

Model: 3rd generation type
Total height: 16 m
Weight: 35.2t
Examax belonging to the Byron army.

I did get all the colors of Portanova, I prefer the Dark Gray the most, and the Red is for 'C**r Az****e' I think, 3 times the speed... Hahahaha. Later, Option Armor will release an armor that resembles Sazabi, I will get the red one for this red Portanova.

Close up on the head.

The back of the head is smooth with a little bit sculpted details. The backpack is different from the Alto, it has four peg holes instead of two, and it can't stack like Alto do.

I actually prefer the Portanova torso design more than Alto.

Remove the middle chest piece it reveals the peg hole for the optional chest armor, the heat sink-like sculpted details look really nice.

The assembly of the arm is a little different than the Alto, armor is slimmer, but it works the same as its counterpart.

The legs look really good, and it makes me wonder is this mecha design is from the Gundam designer Kanetake Ebikawa? (海老川兼武 - Full Metal Panic! and Gundam OO series designer) His mecha design is dope.

Back of the legs is lack of green armor.

Normally, the head only moves forward to this angle, because the back of the head is in a bowl shape.

But if removed the backpack, the head can move backward more like shown in the image below.

The shoulder can swing out more than 90 degree, elbow can fold more than 110 degree angle, wrist is in ball joint.

Just like Alto, Portanova waist can move forward better than backward.

Legs also do as same as Alto, highly articulated, and it works fine.

This two mecha model kits can do sparring poses as well as those humanoid action figures.

Portanova's gun. Looks nice and high tech, I like it.

The gun can be separated into four parts(five parts actually, because the round thing under the main body is also removable for install attachment)

I think the gun storing position is better than Alto, it makes the gun look like extra thruster on the backpack. But with the gun on, the drone can't peg on the hip armor.

It actually looks nice on Portanova.

The drone robot for Portanova. I checked the 30MM website, basically, this is called Roy-Roy (Researcher-Observer-Yaeger), it was written: a small robot for assistance and support of the exam, run around the battlefield with artificial intelligence.

Portanova does not have a peg hole in the middle of the back hip armor, so, it has to put it like that, this does not look good as Alto does.

Side to side with Alto's drone, or should I say, Roy-Roy. Totally different design, Portanova's Roy-Roy is rounded, not like the Alto version. Who looks better? That depends on your opinion.

Like Alto, the drone can replace Portanova's head.

Plug the spider legs on for extra radar receiving? Haha.

Compare with eEXM-15 Alto [White]. They look different, but the joints are actually the same.

Back. Which one do you prefer? Portanova or Alto? (I prefer Portanova now)

Seems it is suitable for being an airborne robot troops.

Porta makes me feel that it has more emotions, Alto just feel like it is emotionless, I think Portanova is a sensitive mecha, haha.
