DARKWING
(CLICK THE PICTURES TO ENLARGE)
Darkwing
has just as dim a view of existence as his partner Dreadwind, he's simply more proactive about it. After all, he figures if everything is pointless, depressing, and inevitably leads to a life of painful and ceaseless suffering anyway, he might at least make sure others are getting it a lot worse than he is. You can always count on Darkwing to attempt to make a bad situation worse for everyone involved, and to complain about it all loudly while he's at it. He's binary-bonded to the hot-headed Nebulan thief Throttle.

Darkwing & Dreadwind, and the combined jet mode Dreadwing. (another cover)
Darkwing alt mode in 360 GIF.
Dorsal view of the fighter. The front part is definitely a Tornado jet fighter, like the old G1 version, but the back...
The alt mode is capable of swing wings like the actual Tornado fighter.
I try push the robot head into the bottom section of the cockpit, but the back cover keeps pop out(just a bit, but it is annoying to me), something is not right on the plastic mold.
If I push back in the panel, the robot head pops out, sigh, frustrated. I don't know is it only mine is doing like that or every Darkwing figures is doing like that?
So, the best solution of this is, just resting the head over this position and assume it is meant to be like that.
Guns can store on the side of the jet.
And the Prime armor can be Powermaster and attach on the fighter, but, it is way too big.
Another option to store the weapons.
Gerwalk mode? (I think it is a traditional to try every single Transformers jet fighter figure turn to this mode, hehe)
Darkwing robot mode in 360 GIF.
The wings should be folding upward if not flip over the back hinge section, like some of the Aerobots.
Close up on the head. Dreadwind has more molded details than Darkwing, but Darkwing got the metallic paint on his eyes. It is hard to see whether he got the nose or not...
I like how they design the torso look in this version, look strong to me.
The backpack is a flip over jet fighter head with empty canopy.
Legs is nothing different from Dreadwind or Aerobots Air Raid and Fireflight.
Nothing different also on the back of the legs from Dreadwind.
Head can turn 360, shoulder is on double joints, hinge and ball joint, it can lift up to the head, elbow hinged joint can fold over 90 degree angle, waist can turn 360.
The head can actually move backward like Superman flying pose.
Legs articulations works like normal CW series figures, but on this figure, it feels very loose, especially left leg, it is damaged.
Unfortunately the left leg is damaged, the plastic of the bottom of the hinge and the side of the leg turn white, means it must be pressed hard by something heavy, the hinge get really loose, it swing loosely when I pick it up. I did remove the pin on the hinge to remove the lower leg and try to narrow down the gaps of the lower hinge, it works a bit.
The double guns of Darkwing. (Dreadwind don't have dual guns though) The peg holes on the guns does not work with 5 mm peg.
The guns can also store on the forearms like so, can use as arm cannon.
The holes on the elbow joint can use as peg hole for smaller 2 mm pegs weapons, I think that holes is originally for display stand. (all the other CW figures with this holes also works)
With Prime armor on.
Compare with CW Air Raid. Except for the main torso, back, shoulders, head and molded details, the rest is all the same.
Side of two figures.
Back. The front end bottom of the jet fighter is actually same with Air Raid.
The Dreadwing/Darkwings brothers. Click HERE to check out Dreadwind review.
Alt mode compare with Dreadwind. This two looks almost same with G1 version, but when they transform, they actually look a lot different from the G1 version.
Remember the time when the brothers was on the way to finish off Ginrai?
Dreadwing, or in Japan version, Darkwings. In 360 GIF.
Dorsal view of this combined mode.
The connection point of this mode is actually one simple 5 mm peg, make it really unstable if hold by one hand, and need a lots of adjusting on the wings. Not like G1 version, they really connected on the main body, and it is quite firm to play too.
Darkwing in combiner leg mode.
Back. It look not bad, but the wings does not snap to anything, it feels weird.
The combiner arm mode look really nice with how the wings positioned.
Back.
I was hoping Hasbro could make two more bots specially for King Starscream, make it fully combine with Decepticon bots, aerial cons would be perfect. (but since the Prime wars line is stop... sigh)
Compare with different series and classes TF figures.
The latest Powermaster/Masterforce action figures from the original company. (except for Ginrai)

In the Destron evil base...
Buster explain how he was defeated by Ginrai.
Overlord order his older brother Hydra to go with him and finish off Ginrai.
And so, the brother were causing chaos on cities to lure Ginrai out.
Ginrai show up to halt their evil doings.
Buster and Hydra waited for so long, now Ginrai come!
They starts the fight immediately after the greets!
But the first strike was failed, Ginrai block them all.
Buster keep fighting Ginrai while Hydra getting up on the floor.
Hydra sneak attack Ginrai's back.
Ginrai sidekick away Hydra...
...and throw back kick to Buster after that!
Ginrai's skills was too strong to them, they're changing plan.
With the Chokon power, they combine!
They form Darkwings!
They attack Ginrai shortly after the combining.
In the combined form, Ginrai can't even counter one attack from Darkwings.
Ginrai think it is time to combine into Super form. (this is the essence of Japan anime, they can think a lots in a split seconds, lol)
Double On!
Ginrai form into Super Ginrai!
Ginrai counter attack after he change to super mode. (this is made up skill from me, haha)
After the uppercut, he bombard Darkwings with the shoulder beam cannon.
Darkwings get hits and separate into two.
They get hit hard.
They are defeated, again.
And they flee, Ginrai is a bit overwhelmed by the situation over here.
Back to the Destron base...
Next time, maybe next time they will defeat Ginrai...
