TYRANTRON (aka MEGATRON)
This is my most looking forward to Megatron action figure ever, it is from the IDW comics "More Than Meets The Eyes", not even the '(in)notorious' MP-36 Megatron. So far, my most favorite Transformers characters (re)design is mostly in the IDW comics, good design, nice character background, and I like the series stories too.
Megatron (Mtmte)
After Megatron fought the war alongside with Autobot Bumblebee, he change his mind about the world, he has lost his original idea what he was fighting for, he join Autobots force to fight the enemies, although his Decepticons comrade was not happy with it. Megatron rise up the war because he lost his freedom, his friends, now, he regrets about it, he change his side, but still, he lost his friends again...

It suppose to be a mining machine, not a spaceship...
No landing gears or wheels, just pure treads sit on the ground. Wonder how he fly in jet mode, how to built the speeds?
Close up on the drill part. Too bad the cockpit can't open, I would like the MMC version of Overlord's cockpit on this.
A small drill head on the back(pack) of the alt mode, this is rather cute. It can change to the signature Megatron back cannon with parts.
The jet burner of the alt mode, low profile jet burner. Now I see the backpack is like a 'M' shape stand for Megatron, so cool.

Torso details. The black and yellow(not Bumblebee) caution stripes looks 'heavy duty' on Tyrantronus, not so bad actually.
The shoulder side is also cover with caution stripes armor, but the plate is suppose to be wider that cover up the whole side of the shoulder in the comics.
I didn't want to plug the drill head too deep because it is so hard to remove it, I have to use knife or something flat to ply it off, damn't...
Huge power drill, so cool, I want one in real life. 😍
No projectile weapon for Tyrantronus, but he got this, energy Meteor Hammer! It look so cool in blue color. (But actually there is more... 😉)
But this hammer's attack damage is very low, because it is made of soft plastic or some kind of rubber material or silicone...
Time to exchange parts! The middle one is the main body, only change those parts below to be different looks.
First, the head, pop off the head like so to change heads, it is like a p.c. ball joint socket like Gundam model kits.
Second, change those panels on the shoulders.
I recommend put your finger behind the hinge part to pop off the parts, more easy and safer.
Third, remove the chest piece. The pegs is huge and it is not that tight, very easy to pop it off.
And then remove the drill head on the backpack(don't push too deep if you want to change parts frequently), after that, just pop back those exchange parts, then you good to go, very easy. 👌

The longest alt mode in this box, looks really cool.
It is a little bad the alt mode doesn't hide the robot head in the jet.
Open up the feet to show the jet burner, erm... The burner looks kind of weird...
Alt mode without the front part. Yes, Tyrantron is a partformer, and so is the rest of the Megatron(s), deal with it.
Megatron not really shown his alt mode in IDW Mtmte comics (I think so, not really sure), it suppose to look like this? Because by how his cannon looks, this is like pouting the mouth...(LOL)

The height is nearly eight inches. And this figure looks almost exactly like in the comic.
Really nice head sculpting, I personally think this is MMC best head sculpting yet.
I feel like want to turn that two screws on the back of the head.
I don't know how others Megatron figure chest engraving feels, but this one feels really good. I don't like the orange red plastic on this figure, feels very plastic-ish.
The backpack looks cool, just the screws ruins the view a bit.
The tread part on shoulder can turn around, but don't know what its really do, and when it came out from the box, the screws is facing outward, it is best it turn facing inward.
Legs is very bulky, but still look nice, maybe because those sculpted details.
Still don't know what the actual function that thread panel flipping up for, maybe for feet clearance?
Wing Megatron?
Head can turn 360 with neck ball joint, forward/backward is available and acceptable, but the 45 degree looking down position is limited by the protruded neck/shoulder part.
Shoulder joint and elbow hinge movement is not bad, shoulder swing forward joint is in ratchet, but unfortunately wrist joint is only a mushroom peg, not ball joint, it only swivel.
But the wrist got a tilting backward articulation, for holding weapons use.
Swivel joint on waist, but super tight.
Side and tiny front skirt armor.
Hips articulation works really well, knee joint can fold more than 120 degree angle, tilting ankle not much but acceptable.
Tyrantron official weapons, spaceship style arm fusion cannon.
The square peg in the middle is how the cannon attach on the arm, and flip over the chain tread to cover up this peg.
With the cannon attach on the right arm.
The fusion cannon suppose to be look like this in the Mtmte comic, but if the caution stripes area can change together with barrel that would be perfect.
Both cannon comparison, both look OK for me.

And also included first edition second lightsaber!

And best of all, the meteor hammer is also come in two, woa....!

More smooth head design, look closely, one of the nostril is missing, the old one is two, actually in the comic, that is a scar damage from battle.

The back side of the mask. The new mask got a magnet to attach on Tyrantron chest, a nice gimmick to include.
And it works on Tyrantronus chest too, but the magnet is not that strong to stay on the chest on both chest.

<<SPOILERS ALERT!!>> <AGAIN!>
Megatron was built from a cold constructed manufacturing site on planet call Tarn, a time travelling Autobot came back from future to destroy his spark, eventually Autobot Whirl replace a new spark, and thus, Megatron was born.
He is an idealist, and desire to be a medic, but he was born to be a energon miner, that time, the functionism of the world not letting him to be what he wanted to be.
He was sick of Nominus Prime engaging in aparheid, and so, he written the treatise and rise up the discontented emotion within the workers level.
After many 'arrangement' from the Funtionist, accidents, violence happens, Megatron start evading the law enforcements, he ends up Kaon underground, there, he meets a groups of gladiators, and start a violence gladiator life, this makes him more brutal and excessive.
He met a covert agent there, Soundwave, who offer him weapons and upgrades. Soundwave saw his true honesty for saving Cybertron thru his mind, and so he join Megatron's crew.
After many many years, Megatron recruitment grown, he start a wave of terrorisms on Cyberton against those funtionist senates, even kidnapping.
He gain a powerful weapon in the escaping process of capture by the senate, the fusion cannon, thus, he is more powerful than ever.
He wipe out all the senates, kill Sentinel Prime, and take control of Kaon.
He found out the head of Sentinel Prime was missing...
He and Orion Pax/Optimus Prime engage many battles thorough many years of wars.
Megatron recruitment grow even more after years of war, Seekers, Triple-changers, Phase-sixers...
And he is still fight with Optimus Prime after those years, Optimus ruin his plans over and over.
Abandon by his second-in-command, he facing a new threat, conflicted with Galvatron.
He fights alongside with Bumblebee in the Necrotitan incident, there, he was questioned by Bee about his philosophy, freedom and equality. Megatron was ripped in half by Galvatron, but then Bumblebee order Ratchet repair Megatron, reminding him his desire of being a medic long millennia ago.
But Bumblebee was killed by Shockwave in the final battle, and driving Megatron rage.
He declare himself to join Autobots after his Autobot friend has fallen, this shocked Shockwave and lost control of the time machine, bring back his dark horrify memories of his past, and letting Megatron and Optimus to kill him.
"Are you serious about this, Megatron?", "I promise you, Prime, this is not a trick." After the defeating of Shockwave, Megatron assure his defecting is genuine. But then, he needs to be on a trial, a decision from the rest of Cybertron, but he feel unjust accuse guilty by the new ruler of Cybertron Starscream, Megatron request to be judged by the long lost Knight of Cybertron, and he wants to join the expedition team of Lost Light, for searching the Knight of Cybertron.
And so, he join the Lost Light crews to search the long lost ancient knights. Megatron was assigned to be co-captaincy alongside with Rodimus on the ship.
"Don't worry, we are the good guys." I would be running away when I saw them... 😅
Ravage was staying around with Megatron on the ship, Soundwave send him to look 'over' Megatron.
They become more close, Megatron talks to him constantly.
Tarn, ex special unit subordinate, Rodimus, current co-captain.
Back to Necroworld, he met his old comrade Tarn. Tarn is furious about the betrayal to Decepticons of Megatron, seek to revenge on him.
Megatron tell Tarn how corrupting he are, but Tarn complaints about what is the future did Megatron bring to Decepticons.
Tarn disgust to see his hero 'fallen', and thus, he start beating Megatron.
"Ravage...?" Megatron escape and went back to the fortress patching up, when the crews was fighting with D.J.D., Megatron saw Tarn tear Ravage in half on the screen, and he was shocked by that.
He decided to pick up his weapon again and fight back.
He took down most of the soldiers of D.J.D., order the rest of the Autobots took ravage back and retreat, he decided to face the D.J.D. alone.
Tarn destroy his cannon in the battle, he think Megatron is useless without the fusion cannon. Before Tarn could kill him, Megatron release a force field stole from Trailbreaker's body, and trap D.J.D.
"It's a trap!" Tarn yell in his mind. Megatron had his secret weapon, the device in his body that create black hole, an antimatter weapon, they can't escape nor move except Megatron.
He reveal members of D.J.D. true identity one by one and kill each of them. "No, not 'Vos' anymore. Today, you die by your birth name... ...Forestock!", "AAIIEEE...!"
"And you!", "Urgh!". Megatron grabs Tarn mask and put it on his chest.
"You and I both...", "Goodbye, Glitch, I want you to die with one thought in your head, everything you did was for nothing..." "CRACK!!" Megatron crush his head by his hand.
Megatron able to get back to Ravage before he die, he ask Megatron with his last breath "don't change back" the Decepticons symbol mask he just wear on his chest...
Megatron went rage and almost turned his cannon to the Autobots before he could control himself.
The latest Lost Light stories tells that Megatron was lost in the Functionist Universe. I was hoping one day he could come back to Lost Light and join back the crews.
