Soundwave alt mode in 360 GIF.
Dorsal view of the alt mode. (a lot of details on the ship)
Bottom view of the alt mode.
The front part of the ship is slightly going upward, thanks to the shortened thigh cover from the lower legs, the ship is crooked, sigh. I checked others pics on the web, they all look like that, I think this is the engineering or manufacturing problems to make the toys look like that, QC is bad on the latest figures...?
No cockpit for smaller figures on the ship, just transparent canopy parts show on top of it.
The details on the front of the ship are some kind of missile launcher or anything.
The back of the ship is the cassette deck screen, look weird for a space ship.
More details on the engines of the ship. The Charge Blaster can store on the ship under the right side engine.
It actually does have the landing gears on the alt mode.
Bandai Stage Act display stand does work on the alt mode, just plug the stand underneath the cassette deck, it will hold up the whole figure.
Soundwave robot mode in 360 GIF.
Head height more than 6-inch high, the robot mode resembles the G1 version Soundwave, good for those Soundwave fans.
Close up on the Soundwave head sculpt, it is a nice head sculpt more than I expected.
Details sculpting on the back of the head looks great. The light piping on the eyes do very well, especially when the lights hit the top of the head, the eyes glow really bright.
A lot of sculpted details on the figure, the cracked cassette screen look nice, but I prefer the undamaged look.
The deck cover is openable, they made the sculpted details in the deck look like the old walkman. The designer extended the left index finger of this figure so it can reach the switch on the shoulder, doing the classic move of Soundwave ("Eject, eject!"). Unfortunately, I haven't got the cassette sets for this Soundwave figure yet.
One of the flaws that annoyed me on this figure, the backpack is obstructed the way the shoulder cannon put, making either the cannon can't position straight, or the backpack can't fully push into the right position.
The backpack of the figure is huge, but it does not look ugly, it is actually the main engine of the alt mode. This would be perfect if the backpack can rotate upside down.
There are so many sculpted details under the backpack.
Even the back of the main figure is full of sculpted details.
The painted lower legs are full of details too, look stunning.
The back of the legs is covered, no hollow space, except for the grey knee joint parts.
The head is on a ball joint, it can angle up just a little bit, but the head can rotate 360 easily.
The shoulder joint can swing outward more than 90 degrees, with bicep swivel, the elbow joint is a double hinge, it can fold until it touches the shoulder, no swivel joint on the wrist, just a fold-in hinge for transformation use.
Hip joint swing forward 90 degrees angle and swing outward more than 90 degrees, the knee can fold 90 degrees, no feet forward-backward movement, but the ankles tilt. The figure is tipping forward a little bit and the feet can't adjust back-forward because the back panel of the legs is too long, don't know why they didn't avoid these design flaws.
The shape of the blaster is actually the same with the shoulder cannon, it can put on the shoulder like the shoulder cannon.
LR-HD Sonic cannon. The handle/peg is a movable joint, but not really sure what it is for.
But it can use as a hammer if combine with the blaster.
Three weapons can combine into this long weapon, it is called USW HF Sonic Compression Mega-Blaster. Really weird form, look like those foam water gun that small kids play.

He got many hidden blasters on his body, two under the forearm, two on the shoulders, it's actually the landing gear in alt mode, making Soundwave look like a special operation agent.
Weapons can store on the back like this, but the backpack is kind of big, stored weapons look awkward on the backpack.
I like to store weapons like this, in hammer form, make Soundwave look like carrying a hammer on the back.
All the weapons can change positions
The official lamp post mode, secretly shows on the box of this figure, so as on the lid. (need to use a black light to reveal this mode)
This is the other lamp post mode show on the NYCC 2018 event. (I call this mode NYCC lamp post mode)
The side of the NYCC lamp post mode.
And this is the lamp post mode from the G1 cartoon version.
The difference is the arms is swinging outward, the backpack is moving back to the bot mode position, and the legs are on its original position.
This is the fans boombox mode I saw on webs. (he is sure no official boombox mode in this figure)
The side of this fan mode. The middle part is tilted backward because the shoulder hinge is in the way.
There are holes that look like a micro USB port and earphone port on the back of the figure. The micro USB hole sure not working(I mean it can't plug in, it is just a groove), earphone jack can fit into the port, but it is shallow that the jack can't fully plugged into the port.
Of course, the cassette deck is still openable in this mode.
A much cleaner boombox fan mode without weapon parts.
The back of the fan mode.
Another fans boombox mode I saw on webs, I think this is a Cybertronian boombox mode, with an antenna.
The side of the fan mode.
Actually, some of the joints are not that straight, making all the alt mode look kind of bad, in this mode example, the arms can't adjust straight, it just look unfinished when the mode is done.
The deck can fully open until its flip over to the bottom more than 190 degrees, awkward.
I think Jazz will really enjoy his free time with this boombox, haha. (new friendship between these two?)
Size comparisons with Siege series figures. He is shorter than Optimus Prime, but a lot taller than Hound and Sideswipe.
Compares with Prime Wars series figures. He is a lot shorter than Blitzwing, I can't remember how tall these two are is G1 cartoon, but I think the size is okay? Acceptable?
All of my Soundwave figures side by side comparisons. The weirdos of them all are the movie Soundwave, the creepiest is the TF Prime Soundwave, the biggest, of course, the Titans Return Soundwave. Siege Soundwave wins the best looking of the robot mode.
The old G1 Decepticon crews are back!
"Megatron, Autobots have been detected." Soundwave reports, "Take the seekers and destroy the intruders, Soundwave!" Megatron yell.
"As you command, Megatron."
"Alert! Alert! All Decepticons, destroy the intruders!" Whenever he is calling his comrades, he always touches his crotch... (hahaha!)
"Ravage, prepare to destroy, operation: Tear Down."
[BONUS]
Extra armor for Soundwave.
Click the video link below to watch
This is how the figure should look with the extra armor on.
All you have to do is, open this back panel on the lower leg and flip out the smaller panel.
Remove the small panel from the main panel. (apply a bit force to one side of the hinge, and pull the panel the other side out. There is a groove on the smaller panel hinge, use that groove as a release point)
And then, simply slide the small panel onto the shoulder like this.
It fits really well.
Both panels also fit the shoulder well, no matter which sides.
And after removing the small panel, the ankle joint gets extra articulation, forward and backward movements.
I always display my Soundwave in this form now, looks more aggressive.
